7-Day Honduran Adventure Itinerary
Visa Requirements: Citizens of many countries (including the US, Canada, and most of Europe) can enter Honduras visa-free for up to 90 days. Check your specific country’s requirements online.
Currency: Honduran Lempira (HNL). US Dollars are widely accepted but you’ll likely get a better exchange rate using local currency. ATMs are readily available in major cities and tourist areas.
Transportation: Buses are the most common and affordable way to travel between cities. Taxis are also readily available, but agree on a price beforehand. For exploring smaller towns and natural attractions, consider hiring a private driver or using local transportation like “tuk-tuks” or “chicken buses.”

Day 1: Tegucigalpa - Exploring the Capital
- Morning: Arrive at Toncontín International Airport (TGU) and transfer to your hotel in Tegucigalpa.
- Afternoon: Explore the historical center, including the Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel, the National Museum of Anthropology and History, and Parque Central. Enjoy a traditional Honduran lunch.
Day 2: La Ceiba - Gateway to the Bay Islands
- Morning: Take an early bus from Tegucigalpa to La Ceiba (around 5 hours).

Day 4: Utila - Diving & Relaxation

Day 5: Copán - Mayan Ruins & Culture
- Morning: Fly from Roatán to San Pedro Sula and then take a bus to Copán Ruinas (around 4 hours).

Day 7: Departure
- Morning: Enjoy a final Honduran breakfast before transferring to Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport (SAP) in San Pedro Sula for your departing flight.
