Syria: A 6-Day Journey Through Ancient History

Visa Requirements:

Things to Know:

  • Arabic is the official language. English is spoken by some in tourist areas.
  • Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites.

Day 1: Arrival in Damascus & Exploring the Old City

  • Morning: Arrive at Damascus International Airport (DAM). Transfer to your hotel in the Old City.
  • Afternoon: Explore the winding alleyways and bustling souks of the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Umayyad Mosque, one of Islam’s most important shrines.
  • Evening: Enjoy traditional Syrian cuisine at a restaurant in the Old City.

Day 2: Ancient History & Roman Ruins

  • Morning: Visit the National Museum of Damascus to discover artifacts from Syria’s long history.
  • Afternoon: Travel south to the ancient city of Bosra, renowned for its well-preserved Roman Theatre and other archaeological wonders.
  • Evening: Return to Damascus and relax at a traditional hammam (Turkish bath).

Day 3: Palmyra: The City of Palms
