Travel advisory: Bahrain is currently a participant in the active 2026 Iran war, and Manama has been struck directly, including a drone hit on a hotel. Governments are currently advising extra caution or against travel: check your own government’s current advisory (US State Department / UK FCDO) before you book a room anywhere on this list. This guide is written for whenever it’s safe to go, not a push to book tonight.
Where to stay in Manama, by neighborhood and price
Manama’s hotel market skews upscale-business and Gulf-weekender, so the budget play is picking the right neighborhood, not just the cheapest listing. All prices below convert at roughly 1 BHD to $2.66.
| Area | Rough nightly cost | Why stay there |
|---|---|---|
| Budget citywide, 2-3 star | BD 10-35 (~$27-93) | No frills, still central, easiest on a tight budget |
| Juffair | BD 20-60 (~$53-160) | Casual nightlife strip near the US Navy base |
| Adliya / Block 338 | BD 30-90 (~$80-239) | Boutique hotels, closest to galleries and food |
| Seef | BD 40-120+ (~$106-319+) | Business hi-rises next to the malls |
| Amwaj Islands | BD 40-100+ (~$106-266+) | A resort archipelago, quieter, further from the center |
| Bahrain Bay | BD 100-300+ (~$266-798+) | The Four Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton, waterfront and skyline views |
- Budget citywide (2-3 star). The cheapest honest option, basic rooms without a specific neighborhood identity, but close enough to a bus route or a short taxi from the souq and the museum.
- Juffair. Popular with a casual crowd, walking distance to a strip of restaurants and bars; also sits near the US Navy’s regional base, worth knowing if that affects how a neighborhood feels to you right now.
- Adliya / Block 338. The most walkable pick if food and galleries matter more than a pool, Manama’s arts and dining district in one compact area.
- Seef. Business towers wired for work trips, directly next to City Centre Bahrain and Seef Mall for AC and a cheap meal between meetings.
- Amwaj Islands. A man-made archipelago with a marina feel, further from central Manama but calmer, better suited to a longer, slower stay than a quick city visit.
- Bahrain Bay. The splurge end, the Four Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton anchor this reclaimed waterfront district next to the Bahrain World Trade Center’s twin towers.
Check Manama hotel rates on Booking.com for the citywide and Seef options, or search Amwaj Islands rates separately if the resort-island pace fits your trip better. Check the current advisory before you put down a deposit either way; some travelers are holding off on Bahrain bookings entirely until the situation is clearer.
