Non-Muslims cannot enter Mecca; hotels here serve pilgrims only. This guide is for Muslim travellers performing Umrah or Hajj who need a place to stay near the Masjid al-Haram, not a leisure hotel guide.
There is really one variable that sets the price of a Mecca hotel: distance to the Haram. Everything else, room size, breakfast, pool, is secondary. A room with a Kaaba view in the Abraj Al-Bait complex can run SAR 1,200-2,500 a night; walk 10 minutes further out and the same night costs a third of that.

How much does a hotel in Mecca cost during Hajj?
Hajj lodging is usually bundled into your approved Hajj package rather than booked independently, since Hajj visas are only issued through government-approved operators. Expect Hajj packages from the US to run $8,000-15,000 or more per person all-in, with premium close-to-Haram tents and hotels pushing past $25,000.
Do I book my Mecca hotel myself?
For Umrah, yes, but a 2026 rule ties your Umrah permit application to a Nusuk-verified hotel and transport booking (verify current requirements before applying), so book your hotel before you apply for the permit rather than after.
