The postcard shot of the Koutoubia’s minaret is free. The building behind it is not something you can walk into, and that single fact trips up more visitors than any ticket price does.
The Koutoubia: exterior only, and that’s genuinely fine
Marrakech’s largest mosque is closed to non-Muslims inside, with no paid workaround and no exception, the same rule that applies at nearly every working mosque in Morocco. What you do get is worth the stop anyway: the 12th-century minaret up close and free gardens around it. For an actual interior visit, the Ben Youssef Madrasa is the real alternative, a former Quranic school rather than a mosque, open daily 9am-7pm for 50 DH as a foreign adult.
Bahia Palace, at its current price
Expect 100 MAD as an adult (50 MAD for children 7-13, free under 7) for the palace’s carved-cedar ceilings and courtyards, open 9am-5pm daily. Some older write-ups still quote 70 MAD; that figure is stale. Check current Bahia Palace tour options on GetYourGuide if the gate queue looks long.
Saadian Tombs
100 MAD, 9am-5pm, and a small enough site that queues form fast once a tour bus arrives. Go right at opening if you want room to look at the tilework properly.
The Majorelle Garden, and the domain that matters more than the price
Book only at tickets.jardinmajorelle.com , the venue’s own official ticketing portal. Garden entry alone runs 170 MAD, garden plus Berber Museum 230 MAD, the YSL Museum alone 140 MAD, and all three combined 330 MAD. A near-identical domain missing the dot after “tickets” is not official and charges roughly two and a half times as much in euros; skip it entirely, whichever search result puts it in front of you.
Two quieter stops
Menara Gardens costs nothing to wander, with a small fee only for the pavilion interior. Le Jardin Secret, tucked into the medina, runs 100 MAD full price and 80 MAD under 25, plus 30 MAD for the tower.
Verdict: buy Majorelle tickets the moment your dates are fixed, since the online-only, timed-entry system is the real bottleneck, not a walk-up queue.
