Nobody staying in Geiranger for more than a night needs to be told to leave it: the village itself takes an afternoon, and the real reason to base here is what sits within two or three hours in every direction. The catch is timing. Every mountain pass around Geiranger runs on a summer clock, and a day trip planned against a June itinerary found online will not happen in January.
