Rotterdam in 3 Days on a Budget (Daily Costs)
3 days adds Kinderdijk to the free architecture core
Days 1 and 2 here are the exact plan in the 2-day itinerary : the Markthal, the Cube Houses, the Erasmusbrug and Delfshaven, then the Euromast and the Museumpark. Day 3 adds Kinderdijk, the UNESCO windmills, reached directly by Waterbus. If 3 days is more than you need, the 2-day itinerary covers just the core. Most days run 72-190 EUR a person; Day 3 runs a little higher given the ferry fare.

Day 1: Markthal, Cube Houses and Delfshaven
Start at the Markthal, the horseshoe-shaped market hall, free to walk through under its “Horn of Plenty” ceiling mural. Lunch at a stall, a kapsalon or a market plate for 8-12 EUR. Walk to the Cube Houses on Overblaak Street, free from the street; the furnished Kijk-Kubus show cube is an optional 3.50 EUR add-on. Cross the Erasmusbrug on foot, free, for the Kop van Zuid skyline, De Rotterdam and Hotel New York, both free to view from outside. Spend the late afternoon in Delfshaven, the district that escaped the 1940 Blitz, free to wander, with the Pelgrimskerk marking where the Pilgrim Fathers left for America in 1620. Dinner in Delfshaven or back in the centre.

Day 2: Euromast and the Museumpark
Climb the Euromast in the morning, from 13.50 EUR booked online, or skip it and walk Het Park at the base instead. In the afternoon, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen’s mirrored bowl is free to admire from outside, or book the 20 EUR timed slot to go in, since the main Museum Boijmans building next door stays closed until roughly 2030 either way. Finish at Witte de Withstraat, free to browse, and have dinner in the area.

Day 3: Kinderdijk
The Waterbus WaterShuttle runs directly from Rotterdam’s Willemskade to Kinderdijk, about 30 minutes, 19.50 EUR return. The public dyke path between the 19 UNESCO windmills, built around 1740, costs nothing to walk; the visitor centre, windmill interiors and pumping station museums are a combined 21 EUR adult ticket. Bring a packed lunch or budget a little more for a cafe near the village, since options are limited. Return by Waterbus for dinner back in Rotterdam.

Getting around on 3 days: walk it, tap in, or take the ferry?
Days 1 and 2 are mostly walkable, with a tram tap on OVpay (0.99 EUR minimum fare) saving time on the Museumpark leg.
