Zomer van Antwerpen (summer)
The Summer of Antwerp is the season’s centrepiece: a city-wide run of open-air theatre, circus, music, cinema, and pop-up “summer bar” evenings, much of it free. The 2026 edition is confirmed for 18 June to 30 August, spread across squares and parks rather than a single ticketed site. It is the single best reason to visit between June and September, and it costs nothing to wander into most of the programme.
Winter in Antwerpen (Christmas market)
The winter market strings across the Grote Markt, Groenplaats, Steenplein, and nearby squares, with an ice feel and stalls selling food, gluhwein, and gifts. The 2025-26 edition ran 5 December to 4 January; the exact 2026-27 dates were not confirmed at the time of writing, so expect a similar early-December-to-early-January window and verify closer to your trip (verify). Entry is free; you pay only at the stalls.
Bollekesfeest and beer culture
Antwerp’s own De Koninck brewery gave the city the “bolleke,” the round-glass amber beer whose nickname became its official name in 2019, launched at the city’s Bollekesfeest. The festival celebrates Antwerp food and beer over a weekend and is an easy, low-cost way to taste the local specialty in one place.
MoMu: the Antwerp Six show
Not a festival, but a fixed-date reason to plan around: the fashion museum MoMu runs its Antwerp Six 40th-anniversary exhibition from 28 March 2026 to 17 January 2027, marking the Royal Academy graduates who put the city on the fashion map. A ticket is about €12, and booking a timed slot online is recommended.

One 2026 logistics flag applies to any event that routes you across the river: the premetro tunnel under the Scheldt is closed for renovation from May 2026 to around the end of March 2027, so cross to Linkeroever on the free Sint-Annatunnel or the free ferry rather than a tram.
