Krakow Attraction Tours: Cheapest Way to Each

Every big ticketed attraction near Kraków can be reached on a public fare of 9 PLN or less, and the coach seat in a packaged tour is usually the largest single line in its price. That is worth knowing before you buy anything, because the one attraction where a guide is genuinely compulsory, Wieliczka, sells its own guided ticket direct and says plainly that it does not work with intermediaries.

SKA1 is the same suburban line that serves the airport: it runs Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia to Kraków Główny to Kraków Lotnisko, which makes one 20 PLN ticket the airport link and the same line the cheapest independent way to the salt mine. Buses to Wieliczka run too, but they leave from around the main station rather than the Main Market Square.
Wieliczka charges a ladder, not a price
Both routes underground are guided and there is no unguided option at all. The Tourist Route covers about 3.5 km on foot down to roughly 135 m, around 800 steps with about 380 of them in the first descent, at a constant 17 to 18°C, ending at St Kinga’s Chapel carved out of rock salt. The Miners’ Route is the other product, with overalls, tools and a higher minimum age.
What moves the figure is route, guide language, concession status and season. The mine’s own headline is “from 93 zł per person”, it publishes dated seasonal family tickets such as a 2+2 at 304 zł for the off-peak windows, and a Polish-language departure costs less than a foreign-language one. Book at bilety.kopalnia.pl and treat any single quoted number elsewhere as one rung on that ladder. There is no combined Kraków-plus-Wieliczka ticket and no official ticket-plus-transport product, so a package that bundles them is a coach operator’s package rather than a discount.
What does Schindler’s Factory cost and how far ahead do you book?
Sixty złoty, or 45 reduced, with a family ticket at 120 for up to four; a regular guided tour in English is 90 PLN. Online sales open 90 days ahead and close six hours before the slot, and every visitor must bring original photo identification with no exceptions. Opening is Monday 10:00 to 15:00 and Tuesday to Sunday 9:00 to 20:00, closed the first Tuesday of the month, last entry 90 minutes before close.
Mondays are free at Schindler’s Factory, but nothing can be booked online that day: the box office sells five tickets a person while they last, and the hours are shorter. The factory is at ul. Lipowa 4 in Zabłocie, Podgórze, across the river from Kazimierz, and its permanent exhibition is “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939 to 1945”. Current prices on muzeumkrakowa.pl .
The cheapest guided attraction in Krakow is a Cold War bunker
Podziemna Nowa Huta is a real shelter beneath a school at os. Szkolne 37, entered through the school’s main door and exhibited as “Underground Nowa Huta: State of Danger”. It is 18 PLN or 14 reduced, 36 for a family, free on Tuesdays, and almost nobody puts it on a Kraków list. Trams 4, 10 and 22 take about half an hour from the Old Town on a standard single ticket.
The vehicle-based version of the same district costs a good deal more. Crazy Guides drives genuine Trabants and Soviet Ladas around Nowa Huta, with a standard 2.5 hour option and a 3.5 hour Deluxe at 179 PLN adding the abandoned steelworks and a pierogi lunch. Tyniec Abbey costs 7 zloty and can be reached three ways
A working Benedictine abbey on a limestone bluff over the Vistula about 12 km south-west. The outer courtyard is free, 6:00 to 22:00. The museum and interiors are 7 PLN adult or 5 concession, a joint abbey-and-museum ticket is 8 PLN, a family ticket 25 and a guided tour 6, with the museum open 10:00 to 18:00 in summer and 10:00 to 16:00 in winter. Guided tours run Monday to Saturday at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 15:00 and Sundays at 14:00 and 15:00, about an hour through the abbey, cloisters and the church of SS Peter and Paul. Auschwitz-Birkenau, booked through the Memorial
Auschwitz Birkenau German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp (1940 to 1945) is about 65 to 70 km west of the city and takes a full day on its own.
All entry is booked online at visit.auschwitz.org . On-site sales ended on 1 March 2026 and nothing is sold at the gate. Admission to the grounds is free and what is paid for is a guide-educator: 150 PLN, or 140 reduced, for the 3.5 hour general tour, and 190 / 170 for the six-hour study tour, with Polish-language departures 10 to 20 PLN below foreign-language ones. Entry without a guide is possible only after a cutoff that changes each month, from 13:00 in December to 17:00 between April and September, a free pass must be reserved no later than seven days ahead, and a single reservation covers at most ten people. All pass types open 90 days before the visit date and passes are personalised, non-changeable and non-refundable. The Memorial revised its visitor regulations on 1 July 2026, so read the current version on its own site before you travel.
Four tickets that sell out, and where the street sellers are
The combined Wawel castle route, the Rynek Underground, Schindler’s Factory and the Czartoryski Museum are all timed entry and all sell out in season. On their free days the first three are box office only. Anyone offering a skip-the-line ticket on the pavement outside one of them is not an official channel, and the official channels are all listed above.
If you are doing Wieliczka independently, buy the SKA1 ticket and the mine ticket on different days: the train is turn-up-and-go, the mine is not.
