Milan Attraction Tours: Prices and What Is Extra
Milan’s guided products split cleanly into two piles: the ones where the ticket is the whole cost, and the ones where the interesting half is sold separately. San Siro’s rooftop walk is not in the stadium tour ticket. The submarine at the science museum is not in the museum ticket. Knowing which is which is worth more than any skip-the-line upgrade, because outside one exception, skip-the-line in Milan buys convenience rather than access. The exception is the Last Supper, where operators hold their own allocations, so check operator availability when the official site is empty.

La Scala, and the ticket nobody mentions
The Museo Teatrale alla Scala costs €12 full and €8 reduced for ages 6 to 18, students and over-65s, with family rates of €20 for two adults plus one or two under-5s and €25 for two adults plus one or two children aged 6 to 14. Under-6s free. It opens daily 09:30 to 17:30, last admission 17:00, and closes on 7 December, 25 and 26 December and 1 January. The ticket includes looking into the auditorium from a third-order box, but not during rehearsals, performances or events, so the view is likely rather than promised. Prices and times are on museoscala.org .
The real value at La Scala is a performance. Single tickets for a production go on sale roughly two months ahead with an online presale fee, and then the box office releases 140 gallery places on the day of every performance, priced around €13 to €15, from 12:00 at Largo Ghiringhelli 1 in Piazza Scala, under a queue procedure run by the L’Accordo association. For a high-demand title, people are in line from 09:00. Box office hours are Monday to Saturday 12:00 to 18:00, plus from two hours before an evening performance for that night only. Check the programme at teatroallascala.org .
San Siro, and the two products you can buy
The Museum and Tour runs about 60 minutes and covers both clubs’ dressing rooms, the players’ tunnel, the mixed zone, the benches and pitchside, plus the museum of shirts and trophies. The Skywalk is a separate roughly 30-minute walk along the stadium’s red external beams at 55 m, and it is not included in the Museum and Tour ticket, though it can usually be added at a discount. Fever is the official ticketing platform alongside the stadium’s own site and the box office. Reduced rates apply for under-14s and over-65s, disabled visitors enter free with a reduced-rate companion, and a family pack of two adults plus two children exists.
Opening is daily 09:30 to 17:00 from November to March and 09:30 to 18:00 from April to October. Prices move by date and product, so take them from the official ticketing site rather than a listing.
San Siro is shared by AC Milan and Inter. Both clubs bought the stadium and its land from the city for €197 million in November 2025, with a replacement planned alongside it.
How do I know if the stadium tour is running on my day?
The stadium publishes a colour-coded opening calendar roughly a year ahead, marking each day as open, closed, reduced-hours or event. On match days and event days the opening times and the tour route change, and in practice the tour either closes or runs short. Check your date on that calendar rather than guessing from a fixture list.
The cheapest guided thing in Milan is free
The Cimitero Monumentale runs free guided visits of about 20 minutes from its Infopoint, Tuesday to Sunday between 09:00 and 16:00, with no booking and a maximum of five people. Longer themed tours can be arranged by email. The cemetery itself is free, open Tuesday to Sunday 08:00 to 18:00 and closed on non-holiday Mondays. It is an open-air museum of Liberty, Art Deco and modernist tombs with the Famedio at the entrance, and it is a working cemetery, so the register is quiet.
Rooftops and outlet coaches
Highline Galleria sells guided visits of the 250 m walkway over the Galleria’s roof at the same €12 general and €10 reduced as general entry, and the guided version is the one that explains the structure under your feet. Book at highlinegalleria.it .
Serravalle Designer Outlet is about 100 km south-west in Piedmont, and the practical route is a booked round-trip coach rather than a train. Operators including Zani Viaggi and Frigerio Viaggi run departures from Piazza Duca d’Aosta outside Stazione Centrale and from Largo Cairoli and Foro Bonaparte by the Castello, typically several in the morning plus one early afternoon, returning late afternoon. Fares move by operator and season, so take the current one from Zani Viaggi or the outlet’s own site . Budget a half to full day, not a hop-on bus.
When is a skip-the-line ticket worth paying for?
Almost never in Milan. The only ticket that genuinely cannot be bought late is the Last Supper, and the resellers advertising skip-the-line entry to it are selling scarce, timed inventory they do not control. For the Duomo, the Castello and the Brera, a reseller sells you a queue you could have avoided by going at 09:00. Where a guided tour does add something is the Last Supper, because operators hold their own allocations, so comparing guided Milan tours is worth it when official availability is empty.
For ticket ladders on the sights themselves, see the Milan sightseeing guide ; for the free-tour scene, the walking tours page ; and the day trips guide covers the region. A bed near Cadorna or Cairoli puts you on the coach departure points, and you can check rates on Booking.com .
Buy the Skywalk with the stadium tour in the same transaction. Bought separately later it costs more and the slot may already be gone.
