Day 1: Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches
Haeundae Beach is free to walk or swim; street food nearby (dwaeji gukbap or milmyeon) runs 8,000-12,000 KRW for lunch. Afternoon at quieter Gwangalli Beach, then dinner with a view of the Gwangan Bridge lit up at night, free from the sand.

Day 2: Gamcheon Culture Village and the markets
Metro to Toseong Station, bus up to Gamcheon Culture Village (free to wander; stamp map 2,000-3,000 KRW). Lunch at BIFF Square. Afternoon at Jagalchi Market, buy hoe downstairs and eat it upstairs for dinner, or Gukje Market, the Korean War refugee market from Ode to My Father.

Day 3: Beomeosa Temple and Haedong Yonggungsa
Morning at Beomeosa, the 678 CE mountain temple with over 6,500 wild wisteria plants (Natural Monument No. 176), free entry. Afternoon bus to Gijang for Haedong Yonggungsa, the rare seaside temple on coastal rock, also free. Dinner back near Haeundae.

Day 4: Gyeongju, the ancient Silla capital
Gyeongju, the Silla kingdom’s capital for nearly a thousand years and often called “the museum without walls,” sits about an hour from Busan by KTX or bus (verify current schedule and fare). Spend the day at the UNESCO-listed Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, then the royal tumuli burial mounds if time allows. Local buses and taxis link the sites, since they’re spread across town rather than clustered together. Back in Busan by evening for a final dinner.

Getting around on 4 days
