3 days covers the city core plus Ba Na Hills
Days 1 and 2 here are the exact plan in the 2-day itinerary : My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountains, then Son Tra Peninsula and the Cham Museum. Day 3 adds Ba Na Hills on its own day, deliberately not stacked onto lighter sightseeing since the drive and cable car queue eat most of a day on their own. If 3 days is more than you need, the 2-day itinerary covers just the core. Most days here run 800,000-1,300,000 VND a person; Day 3 runs higher because of the cable car ticket.
Book these before you go
- A Ba Na Hills cable car ticket for Day 3, especially in peak season when queues build fast
- A room booked ahead for the dry season’s beach peak (May-August), when My Khe strip rates climb
Day 1: My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountains
My Khe Beach is free and swimmable most of the dry season; spend the morning there before the day heats up. In the afternoon, Grab out to the Marble Mountains (entrance about 40,000 VND), climb the roughly 156 free stairs or pay 15,000/30,000 VND for the elevator, and time Huyen Khong Cave for late morning to early afternoon light. Non Nuoc stone-carving village sits at the foot of the mountains, free to walk through. In the evening, walk the Han River promenade; on a Saturday or Sunday, the Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water around 9pm (verify current schedule).

Day 2: Son Tra Peninsula and the Cham Museum
Grab or motorbike out to Son Tra Peninsula’s Linh Ung Pagoda, free to visit, home to the 67m Lady Buddha statue. The peninsula is Vietnam’s only remaining coastal rainforest, watch the roadside forest for the endangered red-shanked douc langur on the drive in. In the afternoon, the Cham Museum (a modest entrance fee, verify current price) holds the world’s largest collection of Cham sculpture, worth the visit even without a My Son Sanctuary trip planned. In the evening, eat Mi Quang, Da Nang’s own signature dish, at a local stall.

Day 3: Ba Na Hills
Ba Na Hills is a built hilltop resort and theme park from 2018, not an ancient site, reached by a record-setting cable car about 40 minutes west of the city (Grab roughly 350,000-380,000 VND to the base station). The ticket, roughly 1,000,000 VND adult, 800,000 VND child or senior for non-local visitors (verify), covers three consecutive days of cable-car rides as of 2026. Go early to beat both the crowds and the midday heat, the Golden Bridge’s giant stone hands are Da Nang’s most photographed built landmark, and the French Village and Fantasy Park round out a full day if you want to stay past lunch. It’s spectacular and genuinely touristy, expect theme-park food prices once you’re up there.

Getting around on 3 days: what actually needs a booking
Days 1 and 2 run entirely on Grab and walk-up tickets. Day 3 is the one day worth booking ahead, the cable car ticket itself in peak season, plus a round-trip Grab if you’d rather fix the fare than negotiate it twice in one day. Full fare detail is in the main Da Nang guide .
Give Day 3 a full day rather than trying to combine it with anything else, the drive alone eats close to 90 minutes round trip before the cable car queue is even a factor.
