Da Nang in 4 Days on a Budget (Daily Costs)

4 days covers the city core plus Da Nang’s real strength: Hoi An
Days 1-3 here are the exact plan in the 3-day itinerary : My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountains, Son Tra and the Cham Museum, then Ba Na Hills. Day 4 adds Hoi An, the UNESCO-listed lantern town that Da Nang itself doesn’t have, on its own day, since Da Nang has no UNESCO site and its real value is as the gateway to ones nearby. If 4 days is more than you need, the 3-day itinerary covers just the city core. Most days run 800,000-1,300,000 VND a person; Day 3 and Day 4 both cost more given the day-trip transport.

Day 1: My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountains
My Khe Beach in the morning, free and swimmable most of the dry season. In the afternoon, Grab out to the Marble Mountains (entrance about 40,000 VND), climb the roughly 156 free stairs or pay 15,000/30,000 VND for the elevator, and pair it with Non Nuoc stone-carving village at the base, free to walk through. In the evening, the Han River promenade, with the Dragon Bridge’s fire-and-water show around 9pm on a Saturday or Sunday (verify current schedule).

Day 2: Son Tra Peninsula and the Cham Museum
Son Tra Peninsula’s Linh Ung Pagoda in the morning, free to visit, home to the 67m Lady Buddha statue and Vietnam’s only remaining coastal rainforest, worth watching the roadside forest for the endangered red-shanked douc langur. The Cham Museum in the afternoon (a modest entrance fee, verify current price) holds the world’s largest collection of Cham sculpture, useful context ahead of any future My Son Sanctuary trip. Mi Quang, Da Nang’s own signature dish, at a local stall in the evening.

Day 3: Ba Na Hills
Ba Na Hills, a built theme-park resort from 2018, not an ancient site, sits about 40 minutes west of the city (Grab roughly 350,000-380,000 VND to the base). The cable car ticket, roughly 1,000,000 VND adult, 800,000 VND child or senior for non-local visitors (verify), covers three consecutive days as of 2026. Go early for the Golden Bridge before the crowds build, and expect theme-park food prices once you’re up there.

Day 4: Hoi An Ancient Town
Hoi An sits roughly 30-45 minutes south by Grab (250,000-350,000 VND, $10-13.50 one-way). Inscribed by UNESCO in 1999, the Old Town’s lantern-lit streets, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and centuries-old merchant houses are the single most popular Da Nang-area day trip, and some travelers end up preferring an overnight in Hoi An to a full week in Da Nang itself. Several heritage houses inside the Old Town use a token ticket system for entry (verify current pricing and coverage), separate from simply walking the streets, which costs nothing. Stay for a lantern-lit evening on the river before Grabbing back.

Getting around on 4 days: what needs booking ahead
Days 1 and 2 run on Grab and walk-up tickets. Days 3 and 4 both need transport out of the city and are worth booking or at least budgeting for ahead, neither is covered by anything you’d buy in the city itself. Full fare detail is in the main Da Nang guide .
Do Ba Na Hills and Hoi An on separate days even if you’re tempted to combine them, both are on opposite sides of the city and each easily fills a full day on its own.
