A full week covers Toulouse and its region without rushing any of it
This route keeps the 6-day itinerary’s free core, aerospace day, Albi, Carcassonne, canal-and-museum day, and Pyrenees day, then adds a slower seventh day: a half-day trip to Montauban plus Toulouse’s remaining hidden gems before you leave. It’s an easy half day, leaving the afternoon free for whichever hidden gem you skipped earlier in the week, the free Japanese Garden at Compans-Caffarelli or a last walk through Marche Victor Hugo for souvenirs. Keep the evening light, an early dinner near your hotel rather than a final splurge.

Getting around on 7 days without overspending
Days 1, 2, 5, and 7 stay inside the walkable centre plus short metro hops or a Montauban train; Days 3, 4, and 6 run on direct trains or coaches further out. Check current fares at tisseo.fr and SNCF Connect . Full transport detail is in the Toulouse day trips guide .
By day 7, resist the urge to cram in one more paid sight. The free Japanese Garden or a slow Marche Victor Hugo morning closes out a week like this better than a rushed final museum ever would.
