Dresden, Germany
A genuinely fast, cheap add-on: direct trains run roughly 2 hours, with fares from around €8, making a Dresden overnight or even a very long day trip a realistic extension of a Prague stay.
Vienna, Austria
Direct trains run roughly 4 hours, fares from around €16, a genuinely different imperial-capital register from Prague, easily paired as a 2-3 night add-on.
Budapest, Hungary
Direct trains run roughly 6.5-7 hours via Brno or Bratislava, or with a change in Vienna, firmly a multi-night commitment rather than a day trip, the classic third leg of the Prague-Vienna-Budapest rail loop.
Berlin, Germany
Reachable by direct train in roughly 4-4.5 hours, a further genuine multi-night add-on distinct from the closer Dresden option.

Verdict: if only one add-on fits the trip, Dresden is the easiest win at 2 hours each way, while Krumlov rewards the traveler most once you’ve committed to staying the night.
