Jaipur Day Trips by Drive Time, 1 to 3 Hours
Distance decides everything on a day trip from Jaipur, so the list below ranks them by the drive: one hour, two hours, nearly three. Anything beyond that needs a night away, and the last section says which ones.
About 1 hour: Samode
The village of Samode lies roughly an hour north of Jaipur. Its palace is about 475 years old, with a mirror-work Durbar Hall, painted frescoes and terraced gardens in Mughal style. It makes a gentle half-day after a heavy week of forts.
About 2 hours: Abhaneri and Bhangarh
Heading east, Abhaneri is home to Chand Baori, a stepwell with 13 levels and about 3,500 narrow steps, plunging 20 metres. The foreigner ticket is about INR 300, with INR 250 for online bookings, and opening hours run from 08:00 to 18:00. Bhangarh Fort, a ruined 17th-century fort and town, is nearby and closed between sunset and sunrise. A private car for both costs INR 3,500-5,000 per vehicle. You can browse booked-driver options on Viator . See Wikipedia for the stepwell’s history.
About 2.5 to 3 hours: Pushkar and Ajmer
West of Jaipur, about 135 km away, Pushkar sits on a holy lake with 52 ghats and a 14th-century Brahma temple. Ajmer, on the way, has the white marble shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, with devotional qawwali in its courtyards. Dress modestly and carry a bag for your shoes. A private car for both costs about INR 4,000-6,000.

Within the city limits
Galta Ji, the hillside temple complex at the edge of Jaipur, costs nothing to enter, with a camera donation requested. It takes a few hours and fits the gap on a short trip.
Trips that need a night
Ranthambore National Park lies 3.5-4 hours away by road and calls for an overnight stay. Safaris are booked online up to 30 days ahead through the Rajasthan wildlife portal . Agra and the Taj Mahal lie 240 km away, 4-5 hours each way, and also need a night. Our multi-day trips page has the longer routes.
Timing
Leave by 07:00 to reach Abhaneri before the heat. Between April and June temperatures climb to 40-45C, and rural sites offer little shade.
Tip: if you can only pick one, choose Abhaneri and Bhangarh as a pair, since they share a road and fill a full day without rushing.
