Jaipur Multi-Day Trips: Ranthambore, Pushkar

Tiger safaris at Ranthambore are booked up to 30 days ahead, and that single date often decides the shape of a Jaipur trip. The park, Pushkar and Agra each need a night away, so here is how to build around them.

Ranthambore: one or two nights

Ranthambore National Park lies about 180-200 km from Jaipur, a drive of 3.5-4 hours. Zones 1-5 reopened on 1 October, and the monsoon from July to September closes the core. Safaris are booked on the official Rajasthan wildlife portal up to 30 days ahead. Prices vary by vehicle, so check the portal for the current rate. More on the park is at Wikipedia . Pushkar and Ajmer: a night or a long day

Agra and the Taj Mahal

Agra is 240 km from Jaipur, so allow 4-5 hours each way and plan at least one night there. Hotel searches are easy on Booking.com .

Delhi and the Golden Triangle

Delhi lies about 280 km from Jaipur, 4.5-5 hours by road. Most visitors run Delhi, Jaipur and Agra as a loop in one direction, and Jaipur sits comfortably in the middle for two or three nights.

Beyond: the Rajasthan circuit

Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaisalmer extend the route west and south. Treat each as its own leg with a train or private driver, since distances are long.

E-visa for India

US and UK travellers can apply for an e-visa online. The 30-day visa costs US$25 from July to March and US$10 from April to June, plus a bank charge of about 3%. Apply at indianvisaonline.gov.in at least four days before travel. The UK government travel advice confirms that Rajasthan is outside the areas it warns against.
