Montreal Tours, Cruises and Night Shows
Tours and paid attractions in Montreal
This page covers the ticketed experiences that visitors most often book in Montreal: a night show in a basilica, river cruises, a ferris wheel and a handful of guided visits. Prices are in CAD and mostly exclude the 14.975% Quebec sales tax, with the exception of Pointe-a-Calliere, which quotes tax-included rates. Check each operator for the current price.
A night show at Notre-Dame Basilica
AURA, created by Moment Factory, takes place inside the basilica on rue Notre-Dame Ouest. The whole experience lasts 40 to 45 minutes, made up of a 25-minute show and illuminated stations to walk through. Doors open 30 minutes ahead of your ticket time. After 5 p.m. you must buy online or by phone. Expect loud sound, flashing lights and lasers, which can upset very young or light-sensitive children. The AURA ticket alone is reported at about $33 to $37, and a day visit plus AURA combination is listed from $43.50 on the basilica’s site.
Archaeology at Pointe-a-Calliere
At 350 place Royale, this museum sits on the spot where the city was founded in 1642. Rates with tax included: adult $30, senior $27, ages 18 to 30 $20, teens $15, children 5 to 12 $10, under 5 free, and a family ticket at $60. It opens at 10:00 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends, closes at 17:00, and stays shut every Monday.
Boat trips
- Le Bateau-Mouche leaves from Quai Jacques-Cartier from May to October, on 60 and 90-minute daytime sailings that are listed at around $30 to $45 per adult.
- Croisieres AML runs its Red Carpet Dinner Cruise from the Grand Quai between 16 May and 7 November 2026, departing at 19:00 and lasting about three and a half hours.
Ferris wheel and projections
La Grande Roue de Montreal is 60 m tall, with 42 climate-controlled cabins for up to eight people. A ride lasts about 20 minutes, one cabin has a glass floor, and the wheel runs all year. Late opening hours are given as 23:00 or midnight, which is why a call or a look at the site is wise.
Cite Memoire is a smaller version of the old projection circuit. About nine or ten scenes now play across four sites in Old Montreal from Wednesday to Sunday after dark, with narration in the free Montreal en Histoires app.
Guided visit to Habitat 67
You cannot visit Habitat 67 unannounced, as it is a private residence. Guided tours last about 90 minutes and run on weekends through November in 2026. Tickets are released a month in advance and a price of roughly $58 has been reported.
Not available
The tower at Olympic Park has no public observation deck until spring 2027. Montreal’s former aquarium closed in 1991 and nothing has replaced it. Carriage rides in the streets are banned.
