Travel advisory: Dubai and the wider UAE were caught up in the 2026 regional conflict with Iran. During a roughly six-week phase in early 2026, Iranian drones and missiles struck sites in the UAE, including near Dubai’s airport and port and a hotel on Palm Jumeirah. A ceasefire has held since April, and Dubai’s flights, hotels, and attractions are operating and recovering, though the situation stays fluid (the current risk is mainly to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, not the city). The US State Department has the UAE at “Reconsider Travel” and the UK FCDO does not advise against travel, but both flag the regional situation. Check the current US State Department and UK FCDO advisories before booking, and again before you fly. Everything below is written for a normal visit, for when it’s calm.

The 3-day version: adds the Museum of the Future

Day 1: Downtown and a desert night

Start at the Burj Khalifa, book the “At the Top” deck (levels 124/125 run roughly AED 149-250, about $41-68) well ahead, sunset slots sell out. Spend the rest of the morning at The Dubai Mall, free to walk, with the Dubai Aquarium (around AED 120, about $33) as an optional add. Catch a free Dubai Fountain show before you leave, showtimes are mid-upgrade so verify the current schedule. In the afternoon, head out for a desert safari, dune bashing, a camel stop, and a Bedouin-camp dinner, roughly AED 99-350 (about $27-95).

Day 2: Old Dubai on foot

Spend the morning in Al Fahidi Historical District, free to wander; add an SMCCU cultural meal (roughly $40-45) if it fits your budget. Cross Dubai Creek on the abra water taxi (about 1 dirham, roughly $0.27) to reach the Gold Souk and Spice Souk in Deira, both free to browse. Finish along Al Seef, the restored creekside stretch, free to walk in the evening.

Day 3: The Museum of the Future and the beach

Book Museum of the Future tickets in advance (roughly AED 149-159, about $41-43), it sells out on short notice. Follow with the Dubai Frame (around AED 42, about $11), the cheapest elevated skyline view in the city. Spend the afternoon at JBR beach (The Walk) in Dubai Marina, free public sand and a paved promenade, or ride the Palm Monorail out to Palm Jumeirah for The View at The Palm.

How much does 3 days in Dubai cost?

Figure roughly AED 450-960 (about $123-261) across the three days if you do the desert safari, the Museum of the Future, and the Dubai Frame, plus a Nol card for the metro and tram and a budget room in Deira or Bur Dubai to keep the total down.

Confirm your desert safari and Museum of the Future slots before you land, both sell out, and recheck the current US State Department or UK FCDO advisory closer to your travel date.
