Travel advisory: Dubai and the wider UAE were caught up in the 2026 regional conflict with Iran. During a roughly six-week phase in early 2026, Iranian drones and missiles struck sites in the UAE, including near Dubai’s airport and port and a hotel on Palm Jumeirah. A ceasefire has held since April, and Dubai’s flights, hotels, and attractions are operating and recovering, though the situation stays fluid (the current risk is mainly to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, not the city). The US State Department has the UAE at “Reconsider Travel” and the UK FCDO does not advise against travel, but both flag the regional situation. Check the current US State Department and UK FCDO advisories before booking, and again before you fly. Everything below is written for a normal visit, for when it’s calm.

The 4-day version: adds Expo City and more beach time

Day 1: Downtown and a desert night

Start at the Burj Khalifa, book the “At the Top” deck (levels 124/125 run roughly AED 149-250, about $41-68) well ahead. Spend the rest of the morning at The Dubai Mall, free to walk, with the Dubai Aquarium (around AED 120, about $33) optional. Catch a free Dubai Fountain show before you leave, verify current showtimes. Head out for a desert safari in the afternoon, roughly AED 99-350 (about $27-95).

Day 2: Old Dubai on foot

Spend the morning in Al Fahidi Historical District, free to wander; add an SMCCU cultural meal (roughly $40-45) if it fits. Cross Dubai Creek on the abra (about 1 dirham, roughly $0.27) to the Gold Souk and Spice Souk in Deira. Finish along Al Seef, the restored creekside walk, free.

Day 3: The Museum of the Future

Book Museum of the Future tickets in advance (roughly AED 149-159, about $41-43). Follow with the Dubai Frame (around AED 42, about $11). Spend the afternoon at JBR beach (The Walk) in Dubai Marina, free public sand.

Day 4: Expo City and a slower Marina afternoon

Spend the morning at Expo City Dubai, the Expo 2020 legacy site with free public concourses, only individual pavilions charge. In the afternoon, take a slower pass through Dubai Marina, walk the waterfront promenade for free, or ride the Palm Monorail out to Palm Jumeirah for The View at The Palm if you haven’t already.

How much does 4 days in Dubai cost?

Figure roughly AED 450-1,010 (about $123-275) across the four days if you do the desert safari, the Museum of the Future, and the Dubai Frame, plus a Nol card for the metro and tram and a budget room in Deira or Bur Dubai.
