Couple Activities in Naples by Budget
Prices for two, not per person
Most guides quote prices per head. Couples pay double, so the figures below are for two people together, from a date that costs less than a pastry to a day on a private boat. Naples is generous at the cheap end, which leaves room for one proper treat.
Under EUR10 for two
- Two espressos at the counter: EUR2 to EUR2.60. Stand at the bar like everyone else. Sitting down costs more.
- A view from Vomero: EUR2.60. Two single funicular tickets from Montesanto take you up the hill to Castel Sant’Elmo and the long view over the bay to Vesuvius. Fares are on the Naples ticket and pass page .
- Toledo station: EUR3. Two metro rides at EUR1.50 let you stand under Robert Wilson’s lit blue mosaic ceiling on Line 1, without leaving the platform.
- Free browsing. San Gregorio Armeno, the street of nativity-figure workshops, costs nothing, as do the glass-roofed Galleria Umberto I, Piazza del Plebiscito and the nave of the Duomo.
- Folded pizza: EUR4 to EUR7. Two pizze a portafoglio on Via dei Tribunali, eaten on the street.
EUR10 to EUR50 for two
- Napoli Sotterranea: about EUR24 to EUR30. A guided descent 40 metres under the old centre into Greek and Roman cisterns, with candles for the narrowest stretch. Tours leave every hour from 10:00 to 18:00 from Piazza San Gaetano 69; see Napoli Sotterranea .
- A sit-down pizza dinner: EUR14 to EUR28. A Margherita and a beer each at Da Michele, Sorbillo or Starita.
- MANN: EUR40. The archaeological museum is EUR20 each, but only EUR2 each for EU citizens aged 18 to 24, and free on the first Sunday of the month. It is closed on Tuesdays; check the MANN fares page .
- Capodimonte: EUR24. Enter between 8:30 and 9:30 and the full ticket drops from EUR15 to EUR12 each. The museum is closed on Wednesdays.
- Herculaneum: EUR32, plus the train. The compact Roman town is about 20 minutes from Napoli Garibaldi by Circumvesuviana to Ercolano Scavi. From 15 October it opens 8:30 to 17:00, last entry 15:30. The Villa dei Papiri and the Ancient Theatre are closed, but the streets and houses are enough for a half day.
- Vesuvius: EUR20, plus booking fees and transport. Two crater tickets at EUR10, bought online for a timed slot, for a short climb to the rim together.
- Fried pizza and pastries: under EUR15. Share a pizza fritta at EUR3.50 to EUR5.50 and two sfogliatelle at EUR2 to EUR3 each from Pintauro or Attanasio.

The splurge
- A pizza class for two: EUR90 to EUR170. A master pizzaiuolo teaches the AVPN method, from long-risen dough to a wood-fired oven, and you eat the result. It is the best money a couple can spend in Naples. Search pizza classes on GetYourGuide .
- A private boat: EUR700 and up. A speedboat for the day along the Gulf costs roughly EUR700 to EUR1,800. It makes sense for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, less so for a weekend.
Money tips
- Plan museum days around the free first Sunday; MANN’s free tickets cannot be booked ahead, so arrive at opening.
- Keep phones and wallets zipped on the Circumvesuviana and near Piazza Garibaldi.
- Leave the car: traffic-limited zones in the centre fine automatically.
