Latchi Day Trip Distances and Timings

Planning day trips from Latchi is mostly a question of distance. This page lists each option with how far it is, how long it takes and what to expect. Latchi is on the north-west coast of Cyprus, where driving is on the left.

Close to the harbour

Baths of Aphrodite. A short drive west of the harbour. The grotto pool and botanical garden are free, and visitors are asked not to swim or wade. The Aphrodite Nature Trail starts here.

Blue Lagoon by boat. The crossing from the harbour is 30 to 45 minutes each way, and a shared trip lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. Pair it with a late lunch at the harbour.

Fontana Amorosa. Reach it by boat, or by a 4x4 on a rough track with exposed drops. A normal rental car is not suited to the track.

Polis Chrysochous, 4 km east

Polis has the Marion-Arsinoe Archaeological Museum at Leoforos Makariou III 26, open Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 15:00, closed Sunday and public holidays, with free admission. It also has a square with cafes, shops and Polis Municipal Beach, Blue Flag in 2026. Bus 622 runs between Polis and Latchi.

Pomos coast

Pomos has a harbour and the Dragon Cave sea cave.

Paphos, 40 to 45 km

Allow 50 to 60 minutes by road. Kato Paphos Archaeological Park charges EUR 4.50, and the Tombs of the Kings charge a separate EUR 2.50. The bus route is 645 from Paphos Karavella to Polis, about an hour and about EUR 2, then 622 on to Latchi. Early starts help: the first 645 from Polis leaves at 06:25 from 8 December 2025.

Too far or closed

Cape Greco: roughly 2.5 to 3 hours each way, at the other end of the island. Choose a base in the east for it.
Avakas Gorge: closed to visitors since 6 December 2025, still closed on 6 May 2026, on the Pegeia and Kathikas side. The Forestry Department has the current position.
Lara Bay: a protected turtle nesting beach reached by a rough track, usually from Pegeia. From early June to late September there are no umbrellas, sunbeds or tents, and nobody may stay on the beach from one hour before sunset. Do not drive on the sand, touch turtles or use lights.
Coral Bay: about 30 to 35 km south.

Sample day

Take the 08:00 bus 622 from Polis to Latchi, join a Blue Lagoon cruise, have a fish meze, then ride on to the Baths of Aphrodite. Check the last bus back from the Baths, which leaves at 18:30. Buses depart Polis at 06:00, hourly from 08:00 to 12:00 and hourly from 14:00 to 18:00, with the same times at weekends. Check fares at pafosbuses.com or call +357 8000 5588.
