Split Day Trips to Trogir, Klis, Omiš and Krka
Choosing a day trip from Split
Pick by how much time you have. Half-day options are on the local bus network, full-day options need a boat or an early start, and the seasonal ones are best checked before you set out.
Half a day by city bus
- Klis: about 12 km northeast of Split on a mountain pass. Take Promet Split line 22, which costs €2.00 booked on the app and €4.00 from the driver. The fortress ticket is about €12 for adults and about €4 for children, with hours that depend on the listing.
- Solin and Salona: Solin is about 6 km from Split. The Roman site has an amphitheatre, the Manastirine necropolis, baths and an episcopal complex. Bus fares to Solin are €1.75 with the app and €3.50 on board. The Salona ticket is €8, or €10 combined with the Archaeological Museum in Split, valid for 7 days.
A day of about an hour each way
- Trogir: a UNESCO town. Line 37 takes about an hour and costs €2.50 or €5.00 from the driver. The Bura Line boat is the scenic alternative, from €6 to €10 depending on the sector, with €5 for children aged 4 to 10. It runs from spring and ends its season on 31 October, with weekend-only sailings in May and from late September. Radovan’s Portal on the cathedral of St Lawrence dates from 1240.
- Omiš: Promet line 60 costs €2.50 or €5.00. You can see the Mirabella and Fortica fortresses and the mouth of the Cetina. Zipline Omiš runs 8 lines and costs €80, and rafting from town is about €38 to €40 between 1 April and 1 October.
A full day
- Krka National Park: drive about an hour, or ride a direct bus to Skradin, which takes roughly 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes and costs about €12 to €18. There is no direct bus to Lozovac.
- Skradinski Buk is for walking along the boardwalks and looking at the falls. Swimming has been banned there since 1 January 2021, and the park permits it only at specially marked places elsewhere.
- Adult entry is €40 from June to September (€30 after 15:00), €20 in April, May and October, and €7 from November to March. The boat and the Lozovac shuttle run only between 1 April and 31 October. The Krka National Park website has the current list.
- Brač: the Jadrolinija ferry to Supetar takes about 50 minutes and costs about €6.50 on foot.
- Hvar Town: a fast boat takes about an hour and costs about €10 to €25 depending on the operator. See Jadrolinija for its timetable.
- Biševo and the Blue Cave: a long boat day. The cave fee is about €18 to €24, paid in cash on Biševo, in addition to the boat. Swimming inside is not allowed, and the cave closes in swell. The best light is late morning to early afternoon.
Season check
Late October is the end of the season for many boats. Bura Line, the fast catamarans and the Krka boat and shuttle all wind down around now, so confirm operations a day ahead. Wind can also stop sailings.
