Travel advisory: Dubai and the wider UAE were caught up in the 2026 regional conflict with Iran. During a roughly six-week phase in early 2026, Iranian drones and missiles struck sites in the UAE, including near Dubai’s airport and port and a hotel on Palm Jumeirah. A ceasefire has held since April, and Dubai’s flights, hotels, and attractions are operating and recovering, though the situation stays fluid (the current risk is mainly to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, not the city). The US State Department has the UAE at “Reconsider Travel” and the UK FCDO does not advise against travel, but both flag the regional situation. Check the current US State Department and UK FCDO advisories before booking, and again before you fly. Everything below is written for a normal visit, for when it’s calm.
Before you book: confirm the current advisory yourself. This plan assumes a normal, calm visit, so check the latest situation before you commit to flights.
The 7-day version: the full city, relaxed
Seven days builds on the 6-day plan (Downtown, a desert safari, Old Dubai, the Museum of the Future, Expo City, Bluewaters, a seasonal evening) with a final, slower day at Atlantis Aquaventure and the Palm. See the fuller Dubai budget guide for the full list of cheap and free things.
Book these before you go:

- A Dubai hotel on Booking.com
- Check the current advisory before you confirm any of the above

| Day 2 | Al Fahidi, the abra, the souks | AED 10-50 (~$3-14) |
| Day 3 | Museum of the Future, Dubai Frame | AED 190-210 (~$52-57) |
| Day 4 | Expo City, Marina/JBR beach | AED 0-50 (~$0-14), pavilion-dependent |
| Day 5 | Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai (verify) | AED 0-130 (~$0-35), verify Ain Dubai status |
| Day 6 | Global Village or Miracle Garden (seasonal) | AED 15-55 (~$4-15), Oct-May only |
| Day 7 | Palm Jumeirah, Aquaventure Waterpark | AED 0-350 (~$0-95) |
Day 1: Downtown and a desert night
Start at the Burj Khalifa (levels 124/125 roughly AED 149-250, about $41-68). Spend the rest of the morning at The Dubai Mall, free to walk. Catch a free Dubai Fountain show before an afternoon desert safari, roughly AED 99-350 (about $27-95).
Day 2: Old Dubai on foot
Spend the morning in Al Fahidi Historical District, free to wander. Cross Dubai Creek on the abra (about 1 dirham, roughly $0.27) to the Gold Souk and Spice Souk in Deira.
Day 3: The Museum of the Future
Book Museum of the Future tickets in advance (roughly AED 149-159, about $41-43), then the Dubai Frame (around AED 42, about $11).
Day 4: Expo City
Spend the morning at Expo City Dubai, free public concourses. Take a slower afternoon on Dubai Marina’s waterfront promenade.
Day 5: Bluewaters and the Palm
Walk Bluewaters Island, free to explore. ⚠ Ain Dubai has had precautionary closures in the past year, so verify its current live status; when open it runs roughly AED 130 (about $35).
Day 6: A seasonal evening (Oct-May only)
Between October and May, close the day at Dubai Miracle Garden (roughly AED 55, about $15) or Global Village (roughly AED 15-25, about $4-7), both closed in summer, so verify current dates. Outside that window, spend the day on JBR beach instead, free.
Day 7: The Palm and Aquaventure
Finish on Palm Jumeirah, reached by the Palm Monorail. Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis runs roughly AED 300-350 (about $82-95), free if you’re staying at Atlantis itself. If the waterpark isn’t in the budget, The View at The Palm gives a cheaper skyline look at the island, and the public beach along JBR is free for a last relaxed afternoon before you fly out of DXB.
How much does 7 days in Dubai cost?
Figure roughly AED 465-1,545 (about $127-421) across the full week if you do the desert safari, the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Frame, Ain Dubai, a seasonal evening, and Aquaventure, plus a Nol card for the metro and tram and a budget room in Deira or Bur Dubai.
Confirm your desert safari, Museum of the Future, and Aquaventure slots before you land, and recheck the current US State Department or UK FCDO advisory closer to your travel date.
