6 days adds the Hel Peninsula to the full Tricity-plus-Malbork trip
Days 1-5 repeat the 5-day itinerary exactly: Main Town, Solidarity and Westerplatte, Sopot, Gdynia, and Malbork Castle. Day 6 adds the Hel Peninsula, a 35km sand-bar with beach towns and a seal sanctuary. Expect roughly 150-260 PLN a person per day.
Book these before you go
- Nothing for Days 1-5, covered in the 5-day core
- Confirm the Hel Peninsula’s train and onward-transport connections the night before, the route combines SKM with a further leg and isn’t as straightforward as the Sopot/Gdynia hop
- A room booked ahead for the summer peak or St. Dominic’s Fair (late July into August)
Day 1: The Royal Way and the Motława waterfront
Walk the Royal Way from the Golden Gate to the Green Gate, an honest postwar reconstruction of a Main Town left roughly 90% in ruins in 1945. Climb St. Mary’s Church (4-8 zł), browse ul. Mariacka, follow the Motława to the Crane.

Day 6: The Hel Peninsula
A full day out on the Hel Peninsula, a 35km sand-bar separating the Bay of Puck from the open Baltic. Combine the SKM with onward transport toward Hel or one of the smaller beach towns (Jastarnia, Jurata), and build in the return journey, this route eats more of a day than Sopot or Gdynia. The Fokarium seal sanctuary is the signature stop if you only do one thing; otherwise it’s a beach and dune-walking day.
| Day 6 cost (PLN, per person) | Low | Higher |
|---|---|---|
| Transport to/from Hel Peninsula | 25 | 45 |
| Fokarium seal sanctuary | 0 | 20 |
| Lunch on the peninsula | 25 | 45 |
| Bed (back in Gdansk) | 90 | 160 |
| Dinner | 25 | 50 |
| Day 6 total | 165 | 320 |
Check the last connection back from Hel before you commit to a full beach day out there, the peninsula’s onward transport thins out earlier in the evening than Gdansk’s own transit does.
Getting around on 6 days
Days 3-4 and part of Day 6 all touch the SKM network, if you’re making four or more Tricity-direction trips across the week, price out the 24-hour metropolitan ticket (around 30 zł) against your actual planned stops. Day 5 uses a separate PKP/Polregio ticket. Full detail in the main Gdansk guide and the day trips guide .
