Tour formats at a glance

Fortress and cable car combination
The combined ticket for Ehrenbreitstein pairs fortress entry with one cable car return. Prices are 21.90 EUR for adults, 20.70 EUR reduced, 11.20 EUR for students and 8.90 EUR for children aged 7 to 17. The combination was not on sale from 3 November 2025 to 28 March 2026, so it may be missing in the colder months. Fortress admission alone, at 10 EUR, covers the Landesmuseum, the cannon Greif and the viewing platform. Major event days add a surcharge. All tariffs are on the fortress website .
Schloss Stolzenfels
The castle interior is shown only on the guided tour, which lasts about 45 to 50 minutes and runs in German. Visitors get a handout in other languages. Soft overshoes are provided at the entrance. The castle opens at 10:00, with last entry at 16:00, on weekends and holidays outside the main season. From the left-bank road it is a walk of about 20 minutes uphill from the bus 670 stop.
Marksburg
Visits start with a guided tour of about 50 minutes, bought at the on-site shop. English tours run daily in summer and on winter weekends only. Look at the Marksburg page for the current schedule.
Rail and military museums
The DB Museum Koblenz, in a roundhouse at Schönbornsluster Straße 14, holds over 40 historic locomotives and carriages. The 2026 season ran on Saturdays from 5 April to 27 September, so the next dates will be on dbmuseum.de. The Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung at Mayener Straße 85 is a Bundeswehr collection of tanks, aircraft and weapons development, open daily from 09:30 to 16:30 except Good Friday, Christmas and New Year.
River excursions
KD day boats leave from Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer in season, and a popular plan is to cruise to Boppard or St. Goar and return by regional train. There are no KD departures from Koblenz in the winter timetable, which runs from 19 October 2026 to 2 April 2027.
