Krabi Couple Activities at Every Price Point
Two people can have a very good day in Krabi for the price of a pair of coconuts, or spend more on one dinner than on a week of boat fares. These are the couple activities worth doing at each level, priced for two.
Free: beaches and sunsets
The quiet resort beaches of Klong Muang and Tubkaek, north of Ao Nang, cost nothing and face the Hong islands across the water, which turn to silhouettes at sunset. Nopparat Thara Beach, next to Ao Nang, is shallow and shaded by pines, good for a long walk at the end of the day. In Krabi Town, the riverside boardwalk of Chao Fah Park looks across to the twin limestone peaks of Khao Khanab Nam. Budget about ฿80 to ฿120 for two coconuts from a beach seller. To stay on this quiet stretch, search Klong Muang hotels on Booking.com .
Under ฿1,000 for two
- A massage side by side. An hour of Thai massage in an open-air beachfront sala in Ao Nang costs about ฿300 to ฿500 each, so ฿600 to ฿1,000 for the pair.
- A waterfall walk. Khao Phanom Bencha National Park charges ฿100 per foreign adult, so ฿200 for two plus ฿30 for the vehicle, for a rainforest trail to the tiered Huai To falls.
- A hot soak. The Hot Springs Waterfall in Khlong Thom charges ฿200 each in cash, and its natural pools reach 40 to 45 degrees Celsius.
- Railay by longtail. The shared boat from Ao Nang costs ฿100 each way per person, ฿400 return for two, and Phra Nang Beach is a short walk from the landing.
฿1,000 to ฿3,000 for two
Verdict: the best-value day out for a couple is the Ao Thalane kayak trip. At about ฿500 to ฿800 each, so ฿1,000 to ฿1,600 together, you share a few hours paddling through mangroves and limestone canyons, and it feels far more private than a crowded island boat. A Railay beginner climbing course, about ฿1,000 to ฿1,500 each, is the active alternative. A seafood dinner for two on the Ao Nang waterfront, with grilled fish, tom yum goong and morning glory, costs about ฿700 to ฿1,400.
฿2,500 and up: a boat of your own
On a shared Four Islands trip, two seats cost ฿1,600 to ฿2,400. A private longtail for the day costs ฿2,500 to ฿4,500 in total, so for not much more you set your own route and timing and linger at Phra Nang or the Koh Tub sandbar on your own schedule. National park fees are extra in both cases. Compare private boat charters on GetYourGuide to see what lunch and snorkel gear are included.
The top end
The Grotto at Rayavadee serves dinner inside a limestone cave on Phra Nang Beach, at the very top of Krabi’s price range. Dining there is for Rayavadee hotel guests, so it means booking a stay at the resort, and the Grotto page has the current details.
Weather and money
From May to October, monsoon swells cancel boats at short notice, so keep your charter flexible and do the land activities on rough days. Carry cash in baht, since park gates, longtails and beach vendors expect it. Read the UK government safety advice for Thailand before hiring a scooter for two.

Tip: catch the longtail to Railay in the afternoon and walk back to the landing before dark, because evening fares rise to as much as ฿150 per person.
