Bog-Shoe Walks
Walkers wear wide frames on their feet and cross the wet bog near Ķemeri with a guide. Purvu bridēji (purvubrideji.lv ) lists several formats, and at least two other operators work the bog.
The open group is led in Latvian with English translation, for groups of 8 to 30, at about EUR 30 for an adult and EUR 10 for a child up to 12. An English-language group of 2 to 8 costs EUR 70 per adult and EUR 30 per child. Private groups pay less per head as numbers rise, from about EUR 35 each at 8 people to EUR 140 for a single walker. A weekday couples ticket is EUR 120. Pickup from Riga adds to the cost, and resellers with transport list EUR 50 or more. Formats and prices shift, so treat these as a guide.
The Sunday Centre Walk
The tourist information centre at Lienes iela 5 in Majori lists a walk at 12:00 on Sundays through Majori and Dzintari. Stops include wooden villas, sculptures, the forest park and the beach, ending at the concert hall. It goes ahead if 4 or more people sign up. The listing suggests about EUR 10 for adults and EUR 5 for children as a cash donation. Listings are seasonal, so ask the centre before you go. Private guides cost much more.
Museum Tours
Jūrmala Museum arranges guided visits for up to 15 people. A group pays EUR 20 for Latvian or EUR 33 for another language, and the audio guide costs EUR 4. The booking number is +371 67761915. Museum entry itself is free (price list ).
Inside Dzintari Concert Hall
A 45-minute walk-through takes in the Great Hall stage, the Small Hall and the backstage areas. Pricing applies to the whole group. Weekday tours before 17:00 cost EUR 50 for up to 10 people, EUR 90 for 11 to 30 and EUR 150 for 31 to 50. At weekends and on holidays the price is EUR 150. Reserve on +371 67762092, and see the hall’s tour page .
By Bus or Boat
Visit Jūrmala lists a guided coach trip of 6 to 8 hours, covering the Open-Air Museum, Dzintari Forest Park and Jomas iela, to be reserved at least 3 days ahead via Jūrmalatour. Hop-on-hop-off and open-top buses do not run in Jūrmala.
The summer river boat Elizabete leaves Riga for the Majori pier at about 10:00, taking some 2.5 hours, with about 1-hour panorama trips out of Majori. The fare is around EUR 20. The motorboat Pērle takes private parties on the Lielupe. Treat all times and fares as indicative.
