How the Attractions Are Sold
Most of Monteverde’s paid attractions sit in privately run parks and gardens. Each sells single tickets, and the parks also offer combination packs that cost less than buying everything separately. The figures below are posted prices in US dollars. They shift over time, so confirm them with the operator.
Selvatura Park
The park adds 13 percent tax and fees to its posted prices, and students from 12 to 18 get about 10 percent off.

At the Sloth Habitat, 12 sloths move freely through the trees, and the park works with the Caribbean Sloth Sanctuary. Visitors look and never touch. Packs start at about $109. Selvatura offers no night walk and no coffee tour. More at selvatura.com .
Treetopia Park
Costa Rica Sky Adventures Monteverde now trades as Treetopia, independent since January 2023. The Sky Walk ($49) crosses 6 bridges, and the Tree Tram ($59) is the only cableway in Monteverde. Sky Trek ($99) has 7 ziplines and includes the tram. The AR Boreal course is $69. Combination packages are $99, $129, $139 and $149. A round-trip shuttle is $10 plus tax. See treetopiapark.com .
Monteverde Extremo and 100% Aventura
Extremo’s address is in La Cruz de Abangares, and its $10 transport leaves from Monteverde. The 143 m bungee costs about $107 and the 4 km Longest Canopy about $72. The Mega Tarzan Swing is $65, with age limits that apply. 100% Aventura is reported to have a 1,590 m cable among about 9 ziplines. Resellers list adults at roughly $54 to $70.
Gardens, Bats and Frogs
The Orchid Garden in Santa Elena has about 450 species, with a guided tour included in the price. It opens daily from 9am to 5pm. The Butterfly Gardens charge adults $20, and guides run tours between 9am and 3:30pm. The Bat Jungle is an indoor enclosure with captive bats, and the Frog Pond is another indoor exhibit. Check hours and prices for both before you go.
Coffee, Chocolate and Crafts
- Don Juan Tours: coffee, chocolate and sugar cane in about 2 hours, with adult listings of about $50 to $64.
- Cafe Monteverde Farm and Roastery: a family-run farm 400 m south of the Canitas church, with tours between 8am and 5pm. Add $15 for a farm lunch or $7 for a hotel shuttle. Details are at cafedemonteverde.com .
- CASEM: a women’s craft cooperative in Santa Elena, founded in 1982.
- Monteverde Cheese Factory: the shop and ice cream counter welcome visitors.
