Romantic Evenings and Stays in Quebec City
This page follows a couple’s day in Quebec City, from the afternoon to a late supper, then adds ideas for each season. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD), and opening hours change through the year, so confirm before you book. Reserve restaurants and spas early on weekends and in Carnaval week.
Afternoon
Start with tea or lunch at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, which lists Bistro Le SAM and Champlain among its restaurants and offers a heritage tour. The hotel’s activities page is the Fairmont listing . Another option is a spa. Strøm Spa Nordique Vieux-Québec, at 515 boulevard Champlain, runs a thermal circuit with outdoor whirlpools, Finnish saunas, a eucalyptus steam bath and thermal waterfalls. You must reserve, and guests are typically 16 or older. Sibéria Station Spa at 339 rue de Genève, Lac-Beauport, lists its thermal experience from 9:00 to 21:00 Sunday to Thursday and to 22:00 on Friday and Saturday. Neither spa price was confirmed, so look at Strøm Spa or Sibéria .
Early evening
Walk Dufferin Terrace as the light fades, then drop down through Petit-Champlain and Place Royale, where the lamps come on early in winter. Wear shoes with grip, because stairs and slopes ice up from late autumn. For something different, board the Québec-Lévis ferry near the Musée de la civilisation. The crossing takes about 12 minutes, needs no reservation and offers a view back to the lit cliffs. The adult foot fare was about 4.25 CAD on the operator’s fares page, which may not include a slight rise in April 2026. Check current departures and fares on the operator’s fares page .
Dinner
Aux Anciens Canadiens, at 34 rue Saint-Louis, is in a house called the Maison Jacquet that dates from the late 1670s. It is one of the oldest houses in Old Quebec, and it has hosted a restaurant since 1966. It is open daily from about 11:00 to 21:00. Le Saint-Amour, at 48 rue Sainte-Ursule, serves Tuesday to Saturday from 17:30 to 22:30 and holds a Michelin Plate for 2026. Chez Boulay serves boreal cuisine at 1110 rue Saint-Jean and holds a Michelin Plate for 2025.
Where to sleep
Auberge Saint-Antoine at 8 rue Saint-Antoine, in the Old Port, is a family-owned museum hotel built on a 17th-century site, and its restaurant is Chez Muffy. The Château Frontenac is the grand alternative. Compare rates on Booking.com .
By season
In summer, the terrace at Cassis Monna & Filles on Île d’Orléans is open. The shop and cellar at 1225 chemin Royal stay open all year. In winter, the Hôtel de Glace at Valcartier has overnight suites from 4 January to 13 March 2027, from about 485 CAD before tax. The Glissades de la Terrasse run from mid-December to about mid-March.
