Seville Attractions: How to Book and What Is Free
Three of Seville’s headline experiences can cost nothing if you catch the right slot, and the rest are cheaper booked on the official site than anywhere else.
The free slots
- Cathedral and Giralda: Sundays from 16:30 to 18:00, with a compulsory online reservation on catedraldesevilla.es .
- Alcázar: a limited free Monday slot, booked online well ahead through alcazarsevilla.org . Treat it as a bonus and keep a paid ticket as the fallback.
- Archivo General de Indias: free all year for individual visitors, with a bag check at the door.
- Plaza de España: free. A charge for non-residents has been discussed by the city, but none applies, so check before travelling.
Paid tickets and who pays less
The Alcázar general ticket is about €15.50. Reduced is €8 for over-65s and for students and European Youth Card holders aged 14 to 30, and this now applies to all nationalities. Under-13s with an adult, Seville residents and some other groups enter free. The Cathedral and Giralda costs €13 online and €14 at the box office, with reduced prices of €7 and €8 and free entry for under-13s.
Add-ons worth the extra
The Cathedral’s guided roof tour costs €20 online or €21 at the office, plus a €1 online fee, and takes roughly 90 minutes. The Alcázar’s Cuarto Real Alto adds €5.50 for a timed visit to the upper royal rooms. The Setas mirador starts from €16, and the Aurora night show runs from April to October.
Booking without overpaying
Use the official sites above. Third-party resellers can add 50 to 100 percent to the price of the same entry, and the Alcázar and the Cathedral have separate quotas, so no joint ticket comes from the venues themselves. Resellers do sell bundles, for example around €48 for the two sights plus a bus pass. If you want a guided visit with a guide and transport handled, browse Seville attraction tours and compare cancellation terms.
When to go
Peak weeks sell out days or weeks ahead. They include March to June and September to October, along with Semana Santa (21 to 28 March 2027) and the Feria de Abril, expected 13 to 18 April 2027. Walk-up queues in the sun can last hours, so reserve a time.
Rules at the door
Cover shoulders and knees at the Cathedral. The Cuarto Real Alto bans photography and runs its own security check. Hours at the Alcázar are 09:30 to 17:00 from October to March and 09:30 to 19:00 from April to September, and the Cathedral opens Monday to Saturday from 10:45 to 19:00 and Sunday from 14:30.
