Kids and Families in St. Moritz
Families do well in St. Moritz when they plan around weather and age rather than around a long list of attractions. The town has a year-round indoor pool, one public sled run, a floodlit evening piste on Fridays, and a handful of museums with low child prices. All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF).
Rainy day or very cold day
OVAVERVA is the public swimming and leisure centre at Via Mezdi 17 in St. Moritz Bad. It has three indoor water slides and stays open all year. Children under 6 swim for free and children from 6 to 15 pay a child rate. Prices and hours are on ovaverva.ch .
Snow days
Sledding. The toboggan run from Muottas Muragl is about 4.2 km with 20 turns. A single descent costs about CHF 43 for an adult and a sled rents for about CHF 20. It is a difficult run, so choose another activity for small children or first-time sledders.
Evening skiing. From 4 December 2026, a lit piste at Corvatsch opens on Friday evenings. Child tickets (ages 6 to 12) cost CHF 20 for the early session from 19:00 to 21:00 and CHF 23 for the full evening. Buy at the Surlej valley station. Only children who already ski well should try a 4.2 km piste in the dark.
Summer and autumn days
Morteratsch glacier trail. A short train ride from St. Moritz leads to a free path toward the glacier. Keep children behind the ropes at all times and out of the ice cave.
Val Roseg carriage ride. Horse-drawn carriages go into Val Roseg from Pontresina. Ask the operator about fares and departure times.
Mountain rides. Summer returns for adults are CHF 64 at Corvatsch, CHF 46 at Diavolezza and CHF 42.50 on the Muottas Muragl funicular. The Diavolezza cable car stops after 15 November 2026 and restarts for winter.
