Multi Stop Coast Trips from Nessebar
There are no packaged multi-day tours that start in Nessebar, so a longer trip is one you assemble. Nessebar makes a sensible start or finish for a trip along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The figures below are rounded distances from Nessebar to plan around, not timed routes.

South: from the salt lake to the Veleka river
Pomorie, about 20 km from Nessebar, has a Salt Museum and a Thracian-Roman dome tomb of the 2nd to 4th century AD. Burgas, about 35 km away, offers the Sea Garden and the main bus links. Sozopol, about 70 km by road via Burgas, has an old town, an archaeological museum and a fortress wall walk. Further south come the Ropotamo area and Primorsko, where a sanctuary at Beglik Tash is worth a stop, so check its entry terms on arrival. The route ends at Sinemorets, where the Veleka river meets the sea.
North: capes, beaches and Varna
Irakli is a wild, protected beach about 30 to 32 km north of Nessebar, with Obzor about 12 km beyond. Varna lies about 100 km from Nessebar and holds an Archaeological Museum with the Varna gold, along with Roman baths. Balchik and Cape Kaliakra come after Varna. Kaliakra is a cliff headland, and mussel farms operate in Kaliakra bay.
Wine
A short wine route links the Pomorie area with Karnobat and Sliven. Opening hours and tasting options at wineries change often, so contact each cellar before you drive.
Getting there and back
Burgas Airport lies roughly 35 to 40 km away, a drive of 30 to 40 minutes. There is no direct bus to Nessebar: a city bus reaches Burgas South Bus Station, and an intercity bus continues from there, 60 to 90 minutes in total. Taxis and private transfers run about 25 to 45 euros. There is no railway station in Nessebar, and the nearest is Burgas.
Season
Summer gives the widest choice of boats and beach stops. Between mid-October and the end of March, many restaurants in Nessebar close and sights shorten their hours, so keep winter plans loose. Swimming rules apply on every beach: obey the flags and avoid the sea after lifeguards leave at about 18:00.
