Paid Attractions Around Charlotte Amalie
Charlotte Amalie has only a few paid attractions, and most are run by their owners rather than sold as tours. That keeps this list short. If you want a full day, combine two or three of the entries below and add a beach.
Coral World Ocean Park, Coki Point
Admission is US$29 for adults aged 13 and over and US$17 for children aged 3 to 12. Children under 3 enter free, seniors aged 65 and over save 10 percent, and the family pass is US$100. Opening hours are 9 am to 4 pm, with the ticket booth closing at 3 pm. The park is open seven days a week from October to April and in July, and from Tuesday to Saturday in May, June, August and September.
The Undersea Observatory should come first, followed by the presentations: the sea lion shows at 11:00 and 2:00, the shark feeding at 1:00 and the turtle talk. Touch tanks are on site. Dolphin, sea lion and shark programmes, Sea Trek and Snuba cost extra. Staff supervise them, and guests choose for themselves whether to take part.
Paradise Point and Pirate’s Treasure
The Skyride and the Pirate’s Treasure museum share a site at Havensight. A joint ticket is advertised at about US$49.95 for adults and US$34.95 for children, against US$34.95 and US$24.95 for the ride alone. Most operating days coincide with cruise ships in port, so check the schedule on the operator’s website.
Fort Christian
The fort is the oldest landmark in the US Virgin Islands, begun in the 1670s. Tickets are US$10 per person. Opening hours are normally Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, and a second official listing says 9 am to 3 pm. The museum is run by the territory’s government, and public meetings in June 2026 discussed its future. Call (340) 776-4566 to confirm that it is open. Parking costs US$2 an hour up to US$10 a day.
Blackbeard’s Castle
The Skytsborg tower dates from the late 1600s and stands above the 99 Steps. Hurricane Irma closed the site in 2017. Local listings now give limited hours, such as Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 am to 3 pm during a season that runs from 20 October to 31 August. The steps were under renovation, so ask locally about the way up.
Hassel Island
Hassel Island lies in the harbour and belongs to the National Park Service. People get there by kayak or boat. Plan transport directly with the boat or kayak provider you choose.
French Heritage Museum, Frenchtown
Volunteers run this small museum and it has no published opening hours. Phone 340-714-2583 before you walk over.
Planning the day
Hours and prices change, so the operators’ own pages are the best guide. For harbour-side sights and the synagogue, read more: Sightseeing in Charlotte Amalie .
