Staying Several Days Around Lindos
Lindos has no organised multi-day tours. The village is small, and the practical way to stay several days is to rent a room and stitch together your own plan from the sights, the sea and a couple of drives. Two or three nights is enough for most visitors, and a fourth day adds Rhodes Town. Prices are in euros.
Choosing a base
Lindos is car-free inside the lanes. Visitors park at the edge in the Krana area, then walk in, so choose a room you can reach without much luggage hauling, because bags must be carried over steps. A shuttle connects the car parks to the village centre. The village is strongly seasonal, and many restaurants and the folk museum shut in winter, so a longer stay makes the most sense from late spring to autumn. Search Lindos stays to compare current options.
Plan for two nights
First morning. Climb the Acropolis early. Tickets are about €20 full price and €10 reduced, with timed slots, and hhticket.gr shows hours that vary by month. Allow 10 to 25 minutes for the climb on stepped, polished stone, and bring water because the summit has almost no shade.
First afternoon and evening. See the Panagia church and its 1489 bell tower, wander the pebble-mosaic lanes and eat at Mavrikos, which has been family-run since 1933.
Second day. Take to the water. Choose a sailing trip from St Paul’s Bay (six hours, four swim stops, about €70), the glass-bottom boat, or the Trekking Hellas sea kayak day from Vlycha Beach from about €140, held on Sundays from April to October. The Trekking Hellas page has the details. Or keep it simple with a beach day at Lindos Main Beach or St Paul’s Bay.
Add a third night
A drive south. A car lets you head south down the coast through Gennadi and Lachania toward Prasonisi, the wind sports tip of the island. Count more than an hour each way from Lindos, and check the wind before you commit.
Add a Rhodes Town day
The KTEL bus costs €5.50 each way and takes 1 to 1 hour 45 minutes. Spend the day in the Old Town, on the Street of the Knights and at the Palace of the Grand Master. Kallithea Springs, a restored Art Deco bathhouse with swimming from rock platforms and about €5 entry, can fit into the same day if you start early. Boats to Symi leave from Rhodes Town, not Lindos. Check bus times at ktelrodou.gr , since buses fill in July and August.
Weather and safety
Heat above 35 C is routine in July and August, so do the hard things early. Wildfire risk is high from April to October. The UK government advice tells visitors to follow local guidance and the 112 alerts.
