Couples in Latchi: Sunset, Charters, Dinner
The mood in Latchi is calm and small-scale. There are no nightclubs and no nightlife venues. What the village offers couples is the sea at the end of the day, a boat of your own and a dinner on the quay.
Plan one: a sunset cruise
The sunset barbecue cruise on the Nafsika II leaves at 16:00 and returns at sunset, according to the Cyprus Mini Cruises website. The sun goes down over the bay. Barbecue trips appear on booking sites from about EUR 20, and the operator can be reached on +357 99 302 879. Cruises depend on the wind and run mainly from May to October.
Plan two: charter a boat
A private boat gives you the lagoon without the midday crowd. Listings on booking sites give a rough idea of cost. Booking sites list Cyprus Mini Cruises private boats at about EUR 460 to EUR 1,300, a private Akamas trip with Latchi Dive and Watersports at about EUR 550, and yacht or sail charters with Latchi Charters from about EUR 695. These are starting prices, so ask what the quote covers before you commit.
Self-drive is another route. George’s Boat Hire has been on the harbour since 1989 and sets out an Eco Line boat at about EUR 180 for four hours, Deluxe and RIB boats at about EUR 360 and luxury yachts at about EUR 595. Latchi Watersports Centre lets boats from 50 hp up to 250 hp. It asks for a car driving licence, and the hirer must be over 21. Visitors staying under 30 days may qualify for an exemption under a Shipping Deputy Ministry rule, subject to a declaration and the operator’s competence check, so confirm the current rules when booking. Plan three: dinner by the water
The carob warehouses on the harbour have been converted into restaurants. Porto Latchi Restaurant and Fish Tavern is listed as open daily from 11:00 to 23:00, and Faros Fish Tavern, Psaropoulos Fish Tavern and Restomare are close by. Yiangos and Peter (Y&P) Fish Tavern has long served fish from its own boats. A fish meze for two or more is the standard order. Out of season, check opening times first.
Plan four: a garden walk
The botanical garden and grotto at the Baths of Aphrodite make a quiet morning. Visitors are asked not to swim or wade in the pool. The Aphrodite and Adonis trails begin here, and each is a 7.5 km loop, so choose a short stretch if you want a slow stroll.
