Multi-Day Plans for Suva, Pacific Harbour, Beqa
Short Stays Rather Than Circuits
Central Division has no packaged multi-day circuit, so a longer visit means linking a few bases yourself: Suva for the museum and market, Pacific Harbour for rivers and the lagoon, and one night on Beqa Island or in the Namosi Highlands. Every transfer takes time, so build in slack. Costs are in Fijian dollars (FJ$), and the stays below quote their own rates, so no trip total is given here.
A Three-Day Route
- Suva. Visit the Fiji Museum in Thurston Gardens (open 09:00 to 16:30 daily), walk through Suva Municipal Market (closed Sunday) and have tea at the Grand Pacific Hotel on Victoria Parade.
- Pacific Harbour. Drive the Queens Road, about 45 to 60 minutes. Take a Navua River tour with Discover Fiji Tours, or spend a long day rafting the Upper Navua Gorge with Rivers Fiji for about FJ$440 to 460.
- Beqa. Certified divers can book the shark dive with Beqa Adventure Divers from about FJ$545 once levy and fuel are added. Others can snorkel for FJ$100 or visit the island through a resort, with a boat from Pacific Harbour.
Where to Sleep
Beqa Lagoon Resort. A resort on Beqa Island, which has no roads or cars. Dive packages are available, and firewalking is staged here. Ask about rates and boat times.
Royal Davui Island Resort. A luxury retreat on Ugaga Island, about 8 acres, with 16 villas. Guests aged 16 and over are welcome, and rates run from about USD 900 a night.
Namosi Eco Retreat. Ten refurbished bures at Navunikabi Village on the Luva River, run by the village, off-grid and solar powered. It reopened in 2022. The road trip from Suva takes about 2 hours, and guests cross the river on foot. Walks and horse riding are available.
Pacific Harbour hotels. The Pearl South Pacific and Nanuku appear in Tourism Fiji coverage. Contact them for rates.
Arriving From the West
Coaches from Nadi to Suva cover about 197 km in 3.5 to 4 hours, run by Sunbeam and Pacific Transport. Fares vary, so ask the operator. Fiji Airways serves Nadi to Nausori. Levuka on Ovalau lies in the Eastern Division, 4 to 4.5 hours each way by bus and ferry, so it deserves its own stay.
Weather and Tax
Cyclones are most likely from 1 November to 30 April but can form at any time. Suva is on the wet windward side, and flooding and landslides can shut roads and delay boats. VAT is 12.5 percent. A 5 percent Tourism Services Tax may be added by larger operators from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.
