Three and Five Day Plans for Paphos District
One base is enough for a week in Paphos District. Kato Paphos puts the harbour, the archaeological park and the buses within walking distance, and every day trip below returns by evening. Fees are 2026 euro figures, and cars drive on the left.
Choosing a base
Kato Paphos has the sights and most of the seafront hotels, along Poseidonos Avenue and Tombs of the Kings Avenue. Ktima, the old town on the ridge, is quieter. Coral Bay suits beach stays and is linked by route 615. If you land at the airport without a car, route 612 reaches Kato Paphos.
Three-day plan
Day 1, ancient Paphos. Morning at the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park (EUR 4.50), then Paphos Castle (EUR 2.50). After lunch, see St Paul’s Pillar at Panagia Chrysopolitissa, free to enter. Go up to Ktima for the evening. Add the Tombs of the Kings (EUR 2.50, about 2 km north) if you still have energy.
Day 2, coast and cruise. Drive to Peyia, view the Edro III wreck from the shore and spend time at Coral Bay. Continue north to Latchi for a Blue Lagoon boat trip, which takes roughly 2.5 to 3 hours, with fares from about EUR 20.
Day 3, hills and legend. Go to Tala for Agios Neophytos (EUR 2 for the cell and museum). Taste wine in Kathikas at Vasilikon Winery, after checking its hours. In the afternoon, take in Palaepaphos at Kouklia (EUR 4.50) and watch the sunset at Petra tou Romiou. Stay out of the water there.
Adding day four and five
Day 4, forest. Drive about 55 km north-east to Stavros tis Psokas, where Cyprus mouflon are kept in an enclosure. Cedar Valley follows. Stop at the Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery on the way back. The mountain road takes 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 each way.
Day 5, Limassol District. Kourion, with its clifftop theatre and mosaics, is about 55 km east, and Kolossi Castle and the old port at Limassol are near it. These are outside Paphos District, and they fill one day.
Costs and cards
The Department of Antiquities sells 1-day, 3-day and 7-day cards at EUR 8.50, EUR 17 and EUR 25. Add up single tickets before buying a card. Park, Tombs and Castle hours are 08:30 to 19:30 from 16 April to 15 September, and 08:30 to 17:00 from 16 September to 15 April. They are closed on 25 December, 1 January and Orthodox Easter Sunday. The Antiquities site has the latest.
