Lika-Senj County With Children
Families will find boardwalks, boats and a famous inventor in Lika-Senj County. Costs are low for children, and under-7s are free at the main parks. Prices are in euros.

Children under 7 enter Plitvice free. In summer the child ticket falls to 9 euros after the afternoon cut-off.
At Plitvice
The ticket covers the electric boat and the panoramic train, so tired children can ride between stops. Short programmes suit them best: Programme A is 3.5 km, Programme B is 4 km with a boat ride, and Programme F is 4.6 km. Each takes 2 to 4 hours. Rowing on Lake Kozjak costs 15 euros per hour for up to 4 people, from 10:00 to 15:00, leaving from the P1 dock.
Rules matter here. Swimming is banned in the whole park, nobody may leave the marked paths, and dogs must be on a leash. In winter the Upper Lakes are usually closed.
In Smiljan
The Tesla Centre has a transformer demonstration every hour on the hour. The centre does not open on Mondays or holidays. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 08:00 to 20:00 and Sunday 10:00 to 16:00 from April to October.
The bear refuge at Kuterevo
Kuterevo is a seasonal stop. Entry is free and donations are welcome, so check hours before you drive.
Coast and mountain
Northern Velebit is usually open from early May to mid-November, and the family ticket covers up to two adults with children up to 18. Zavratnica Cove is a walk from Jablanac. No lifeguards are documented at the cove, so keep it as a short walk and a view, and stay on the trails.
Practical tips
- Carry snacks and water on long programmes.
- Reserve Plitvice tickets online if possible, which is recommended.
- Zrće Beach on Pag is a party area, so it is not a family beach.
